Only Tales, not exact. [Late]
Getting this short out of the way, I am going to talk about Solo TTRPGs regarding about conversion between Analog and Digital Tools.
Some little clarity: When I mean by converting notes, I mean converting something relating to a journaling-like structure, like writing novels. If it comes to notes as in recording or at least some small clarity like playing in your head, conversion isn't really necessary.
So, why do you talk about conversion?
Basically, giving a little summer about this: I have one analog game I've been playing and never releasing it since the start of like months ago (yeesh...), supposedly it's about a Ratatan-Inspired Game of a fellow junior boy named "Makiroka." If you know the previous blogs, I initially try to get this posted here so I thought of digitizing it.
That is a mistake, and I hate it.
And why'd you think it went wrong?
Well, I had my initial thoughts that I can simply copy-paste it there and such. Written that in obsidian (No longer using it as I now stray to Notepad++) and... oh boy it's a slog. There's lots of things to copy and around and it slowly starts to become a chore when I do want to convert things in between two mediums. I couldn't get to work and doze away from the solo ttrpg space for the time being, it was frustrating thing that I end up having myself thinking it's was a one-off thing.
As I keep playing the game without conversion, I look to realize it started to grew a lot bigger than expected. More notes, means more chore. Which discourages me to even digitize it properly because I'm pretty sure I love writing a lot more to my own demizing agony that is copying.
So, what do you do?
I procrastinate, then I went back to TheGrouchCouch Discord (Recent Community I contribute and hang around) and looked at actual plays and such. Then I got a thought "Why not I just summarize it and called it a day?" Which I did that before on my first ever campaign (long ago...) which I made a full master summary on what I was doing in the game of 4 player characters inspired by homestuck. I asked that question on the discords and it seems reasonable, along with one of GrouchCouch's videos about games living inside my head. So I knew it was the right call, summarize the game as a means of digitizing it, then keep the others like bulletpoint notes and character sheets.
So... what-
I made a summary, I did. so now you can read it here. Enjoy this little actual play lol:
Makiroka has been one of the prodigies as one of the battle masters on leading a squad of small cosplaying critters called "Cobuns" to their wits, he have done something reckless during an attack on a sentient Airship "Fortrun" as a mass of Cobuns, and even one of the non-cosplaying humanoids with one side of their eye covered by an eyepatched named "Demetans"; It have been turned out to be greatful after Makiroka and a mass of cobuns topple down this raptor-like giant and its Dark Cobuns to be topple off the cliffside of the mountains.
Since then, A tall crow-like fellow named "Kro" awared Makiroka with an instrument and his very own cobuns. He is classified now as one of the Cosplaying Musical Humanoids with one eye covered "Ratatans" (he's in a bunny cosplay with a bandage instead of an eyepatch), He is considered a "Junior Ratatan" as he needs formal training training by one of the Ratatan Trainers named "Gorvatrah;" as this bulky tortose ratatan with a warhammer fitted with an unusual amount of bells. He's put to training and started to follow diciplines throughout, outside a theme-park-like place called "Rataport," is the Barracks that looks like a japanese dojo that are made of stones.
A raid occurs that springs into action as Makiroka dug his way from countless fallen Ratatans (not killed, simply fainted like in pokemon) and Cobuns on the way. It seems as if the Dark Forces wanted to distrupt the Barracks itself, while then, he did well on getting through the battle. Despite the complete power of Gorvatrah's Might, the tortise gives him apprechiation that puts him on a spot as one of the Explorees of an Expedition, a dense forest named "Ikveno" to be ventured out.
As waiting in line for the announcement, Makiroka is met with two Junior Ratatans. One in a scent of florals and literal flowers wielding nature's decorating Flintlocks, in a rather cutish Owl Cosplay, her name is Niimy. Another of a Hedgehog with its spikes seems to be straighten and worn a torn jacket, bearing what looks like gauntlets, his name is Gharrahto. It was a fruitful meeting before the announcement for the expedition brings the objective to mark flags in specific landmarks of Ikveno while warning those of potential Dark Cobuns hiding in the midst, Makiroka and the 2 Ratatans bands up as a party while overhearing another Junior Ratatan confronted by Gorvertah that seems to have a fatherly relationship on a missing instrument.
The path brings to the forest as a wave of exciting Junior Ratatans races to set the flags in. Leaving the rest to the party, Gharrahto insists Makiroka to lead the way on the paths of the forests. A lucky find lead to one of the statues of a fable and a warning, Niimy finds out it was really old while Gharrahto reminds the statue as his father being a sculptor. Only a while before being lead to a trap by one of the Dark Cobuns, Makiroka and Gharrahto weren't so luck. The battle is a struggle before managing to take out one of the Dark Vulture Ratatans into the skies above in a twinkling light, they are now cautious on what's coming up next on the following paths.
Ok... I guess...
At least to you now, imaginary-manifestation-of-a-header-replying-back-to-me. But for now, I got what I have for this actual-play. Consider this a prelude, if you must?
Oh, one more thing, I managed to make some changes on the NSRP system today. Finally, some clarifications that, at least make sense on how you can play it, check it out.
Alright, see ya guys next time! Chirp!
